Introduction

With a long history of providing off road driving training and courses since 1994 to both private companies,  public sector organisations and individuals wishing to learn how to drive competently and safely off road, True Grip Off Road  is the organisation for 4x4 driving.   The business started life in 1994 as the Canterbury Off Road Centre and at the time provided off road demonstrations of the then newish Land Rovery Discovery for a local Land Rover Dealer.  Incorporated in 2002 as True Grip Driver Training the business moved into providing professional off road driver training for a Government customer.  Rebranded as True  Grip Off Road in 2006 the business is now one of the leading providers of 4x4 training and 4x4 driving experience courses in the South East.

Philosophy

Our business is off road driving. We specialise in the provision of off road driving training courses including 4x4 driving, winching, vehicle recovery and trailer handling. We are not a corporate hospitality organisation who also does off road driving. If you want to drive off road, we are the organisation to do it with. Whichever type of course you select, professional user training , recreational user training or an off road driving experience course we will provide high quality professional instruction and guidance, aiming to maximise the time you spend driving the vehicle and ensuring you learn some new and different driving skills

Instructors

All our instructors hold off road driving qualifications and instructional techniques qualification and have many years experience of driving 4x4’s both on and off road. Our instructors are chosen for their ability to pass on their off road driving knowledge and share with our customers their passion for all things 4x4.

4x4 Driving Courses

Three categories of courses are offered, professional user training, recreational user training and driving experience courses. We can also provide bespoke courses and off road driving events developed to meet your specific needs. of one of experienced instructors. Our off road driving experience courses are available from two hours duration, half day and full day. Our off road driving experience courses last from two hours to a full day. Other Courses

We also provide winching and recovery training courses, trailer handling courses, B+E trailer training, 4x4 vehcile familiarisation training courses, vehicle based expedition preparation courses and 4x4 vehicle maintenance and repair courses.

Events

We are experienced in organising and delivering off road driving events either on one of our sites or at your site. Training events, reward or hospitality events or team building events can all be organised to meet your specific needs.

Our Location

Our principle off road driving site is located at Maypole, near Hoath in Kent. This site has been developed specifically for off road driving and offers a range of off road obstacles of varying difficulty. The site includes hill climbs and descents, side slopes, traverses and rutted tracks. The site has a range of surfaces including clay, chalk, sand as well as mud runs and water crossings. Located 1.5 miles from the A299, 4.3 miles from Herne Bay and 6.6 miles from Canterbury the site has good road and rail links. There is a good choice of accommodation close by with prices to suit all budgets.
